Richard graduated from Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2000, as a percussion artist in Hungary. During his academic years he spent a lot of time playing jazz vibraphone and marimba music. He works as a solo artist, in duets and in jazz bands.

In 2000, he received Special Prize at the Jazz 2000 International Jazz Festival as vibraphone soloist in Budapest. In 2002, he qualified for the finals of the 1st Hungarian Jazz Composer Competition with the septet Dance of Diablo, where he won 4th place. In 2004, he was a semi-finalist at ISC in Nashville with his song "Sophia". Among the jury members were Pat Metheny and B.B. King. Also In 2004 he gave a jazz vibraphone course – the first ever in Hungary.

He regularly gives concerts on Hungarian Radio (known as Bartók Rádió).

"Hands of Passion" is a duet based on vibraphone and piano. The compositions combine the virtuous and emotional musical elements of jazz music. This kind of musical duet has a very unique sound picture. Szaniszlo play with four and five mallets. The "five-mallet" playing is stand-alone among jazz vibist all over the world.

He signed to Soron Records, Los Angeles in 2008.
