After having completed her piano studies Ágnes Ratkó studied the harpsichord first with Anikó Horváth at the Academy of Music, Budapest, then as a student of Gordon Murray at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. She earned a degree in harpsichord at both institutions. Later she studied the clavichord with Miklós Spányi at the Conservatory of Oulu (Finland). She has given concerts in Hungary and several European countries as a soloist, chamber musician, and member of various Baroque ensembles. She is a founder member of the Jean-Marie Leclair Trio which she tours Hungary and Austria with. She has contributed to several CD and radio recordings, and has taken part in the performances of the Budapest Chamber Opera. She has taught harpsichord at the Conservatory of the University of Szeged since 1995, and has participated as teacher and assistant in courses given in Austria, Hungary and Germany. She taught harpsichord at the summer school of Early Music in Tokaj (Hungary) in 2003. Since September 2003 she has been teaching continuo at the Academy of Music, Budapest.
