Elisabetta Devescovi studeid at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. She has been the principal harpist of the former Hungarian State Philharmonic Orchestra sinec 1954. Besides performing with the orchestra, she is also active as a soloist and often plays chamber music. She teaches the harp at the Béla Bartók Conservatory. Several composers (Pál Járdányi, László Kalmár, Endre Székely) have dedicated their pieces, written for the harp to her; and the world premieres of these pieces are also connected to her name. For several years she has been giving chamber music concerts together with her son, gergely Járdányi.
