Viktor Massányi graduated from the Franz Liszt Music College in 1995. He was first a soloist at the Pécs National Theatre and then from 1997, soloist at the Hungarian State Opera House. He is regarded as a promising talent in the realm of lyric baritone roles. During the course of his career, he has progressed from Mozart (Papageno, Count Almaviva, Don Giovanni), Rossini (Figaro, Dandini) and Donizetti (Bercore and Antonio) towards Verdi's heroic roles (Marquis Posa, Simon Boccanegra, Germont, Rigoletto.) He frequently performs in the concert hall and has a repertoire that extends from Bach to modern composers. He has made successful debuts in countless European counties as well as in the USA, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan and Oman.
