Kéry János

He was born in 1974 in a family of musicians. He finished all his studies with "summa cum laude" as a piano major: Zoltán Kodály Special High school of Music, Debrecen, Hungary (1988-1993), Boise State University, Boise, USA (1992-1993), Franz Liszt University of Music, Budapest, Hungary (1993-1999), and Hochschule des Saarlandes für Musik, Saarbrücken, Germany (1999-2005). His professors were Attila Pless, István Lantos, András Kemenes, Márta Gulyás, Madeleine Forte, Thomas Duis, Alexander Peskanov and Vadim Suchanov.
In 1992 he won the BSU Concerto competition, and since then he performed with orchestras as a soloist (BSU, Debrecen, BM Duna, Szombathely symphony orchestras and with the Frigyes Sándor chamber orchestra). He gave solo and chamber music recitals in many different countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Rumania, Austria, Germany, France, Holland, England, Spain, Finland, Italy, USA, Mexico, Canada). The Hungarian National Bartók Radio, the BSU Radio (Boise, USA) and the Saarbrücker Radio Klassik (SR2, Germany) made recordings with him.
Since 2004 he is a piano professor at the Franz Liszt University of Music, Budapest. He gave master classes at the Sankt Wendel International Music Camp in Germany (2002-2005), at the National University of Mexico (2009) and at the Boise State University, USA (2011). He has been a jury member at the National Competition Angelica Morales in Mexico in 2009, and at the Semmelweis Music Competition in Budapest in 2009 and 2010.
