Biography

He received his diploma from the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music in 1987, where he was a student of Gyula Kovács and Iván Nesztor. Since then he has been one of the most sought-after jazz drummers. He has played among others with Tony Lakatos, Gábor Gadó, Csaba Deseő, István Regős, and Károly Binder, and has also recorded several albums. Currently he is a member of Equinox, Ágnes Lakatos's band, István Grencsó's various formations, and the István Gyárfás Trio.
