1954-1962: Studies composition with Endre Szervánszky, choral conducting and music tuition with Zoltán Vásárhelyi, at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest.
1962-1971: Tutor of a Music School, artistic director of a chamber orchestra, regularly performs and lectures in public.
1971-1984: Settles in Germany as freelance composer, performer of his own music as conductor and pianist, and private music teacher.
1984-: Teaches music theory at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, director of the course "Music at the 20th century" between 1989 and 1995.
1984: Awarded with the "Internationaler Arbeits- kreis für Musik" prize in Kassel (Germany) for Time Mill.
1985: Awarded with the "Bärenreiter Haus- musikpreis" for Five Sound Patterns.
1991: Participates in the International Composers' Symposium "Schreyahner Herbst" in Germany. "Scenes" is performed at the ISCM Festival in Zurich. Organises a series of Hungarian-German Composer Encounters in co-operation with the Geothe Institute. Professor of composition at the International Bartók Seminar in Szombathely. Awarded with the Erkel Prize.
1992: Director of the Department of Music Theory at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. "Axiom" is performed at the 8th International Music Festival of Heidelberg (Germany).
"Attributes" is performed at the ISCM Festival in Warsaw.
1993: His "Composer's Portrait" is broadcast by three major radio stations in Germany. "Scenes" is performed at the Tribune Internationale Paris.
1994: Invited to hold a series of lectures at the Academy of Music and Theater, Hamburg (Germany). The Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Austria) invites him to speak there.
1992-1997: Head of Music Theory Department at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.
1997: Habilitation at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music; member of the Staff of Masters (DLA). Contemporary music reader at the Hungarian Radio.
1998: Full member of the Széchenyi Academy of Arts and Letters.
2000-2001: Fellow of the Villa Concordia International House of Arts operating in Bamberg, Germany.
2005: Bartók-Pásztory Award
